Power lead flaws in SCP, SDP and SPP model ranges
Dear Customer,
During routine quality inspections we have noticed cracks in the outer insulation of a small number of power leads of our submersible pumps. In extreme cases this could affect the safety of the user, resulting in potential serious injury, caused by electrical shock. A number of pumps in the SCP, SDP and SPP model ranges are affected. No accidents have been reported, but as a precautionary measure we are calling on all owners of the models listed below not to use them any more but to exchange them for a replacement, which will of course be supplied free of charge.
The product recall applies to some pumps of the following models: the SCP 9000; SCP 12000; SCP 16000; SDP 9500; SDP 14000; SDP 18000; SPP 33.
To find out whether your pump needs replacing, please proceed as follows:
- First check the silver type plate on your pump. If the serial number printed on it is higher than 100,000, your pump is flawless and is not affected by this recall. You need take no further action.
- If the serial number is 100,000 or below, proceed as follows: A date is printed on the power lead of your pump and also on the float lead. Check both the date on the power lead and the date on the float lead against those listed below. If you find both dates in the following list, your pump is flawless and you need take no further action.

If a date does not appear on the list or if you are unable to see a date on the power lead, please call our service hotline on 01295 752023 and give us the following information about your pump:
- The serial number printed on the silver type plate and the product code.
- View type plate of SCP and SDP model ranges
- View type plate of SPP 33 model
- The cable date on the (long) power lead and the (short) float lead.
