Data, Figures, Facts

Data and facts regarding the 2009 business year.
Despite the global fi nancial and economic crisis, the family owned company Kärcher was again able to create jobs during the 2009 business year, as well as making substantial investments and increasing the company‘s share of the market both worldwide and in almost all product groups. 6.4 million units were sold – more than ever before – and a turnover of 1.3 billion euros was achieved. Compared to the previous year, the company was able to keep the reduction in turnover in the single fi gure range. With 6887 employees, Kärcher displayed the highest level of employees throughout the entire history of the company. Innovation is still the most significant growth factor for the company. During the past year, the world‘s largest manufacturer of cleaning devices introduced numerous new products, including the quietest pressure washer for private households, the MC 50 communal street sweeping vehicle and the NT 14/1 Eco, the wet/dry vacuum specially developed for workmen. Kärcher has also done justice to their socia responsibilities in 2009. The company focuses on sustainable business and has supported charitable, social and cultural installations in many countries as well as getting involved in environmental protection. Kärcher has made use of their own technology to contribute to the maintenance of valuable monuments. As a result, the Potemkin Stairs in Odessa were cleaned and the Neue Staatsgalerie in Stuttgart was cleaned of soiling that would have damaged the stonework.
